How can we help? 👋

Quick-Start Guide

Introduction to DekkoSecure, DekkoDEMS, and key features.

What is DekkoSecure?

DekkoSecure is a suite of enterprise-grade, government-trusted products built for high-security, high-trust environments. The platform consists of two products: DekkoCORE is a secure-by-design file sharing and collaboration platform built for mission-critical workflows. It delivers end-to-end encryption, zero-knowledge architecture, and full auditability, while enabling seamless collaboration across departments and external partners. In addition to file sharing, DekkoCORE includes document collaboration, eSignature workflows, messaging, video conferencing, and public submissions.

DekkoDEMS (FUSION) is a digital evidence management platform designed for law enforcement and justice agencies. It is built on the same zero-knowledge architecture as DekkoCORE and centralises digital evidence within a structured, auditable workflow that safeguards evidentiary integrity from ingestion to disclosure.

This Help Center covers DekkoDEMS. For DekkoCORE documentation and guides, please visit the DekkoCORE Help Center.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, confirm the following:

  • You have received an invitation email from your DekkoDEMS administrator or a DekkoDEMS user.
  • You are using a supported browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. See the Whitelisting and browser settings article for tips on making sure your DekkoDEMS experience goes smoothly.

💡

DekkoDEMS is an invite-only platform. There is no “public” sign-up page. If you have not received an invitation, please contact your organisation's DekkoDEMS administrator.

Register your account

Your email invite will lead you to a “standard” account creation page. This page contains a form to set your profile name, password, and 2FA if it has been enforced for the organisation you are registering to:

Log in to DekkoDEMS

  1. Go to fusion.dekko.io.
  1. Enter your email address, password, and 2FA code.
  1. After logging in you will see the case browser, which displays all case folders accessible to your account.

Understand the interface

DekkoDEMS organises all material into cases. Each case has attributes (metadata fields) that your organisation configures to categorise and identify digital evidence or supporting legal data should be identified.

When you log in, you will see all case folders that are accessible to you, either as an owner, or as a recipient of a case folder that has been created by another DekkoDEMS user.

View profiles control which attributes are displayed in the case browser. Your organisation may have multiple view profiles configured for different teams or workflows. Select the appropriate view profile before creating or searching for cases.

For a full walkthrough of navigation, filters, and view profiles, see Web: Interface and Filters.

If you’ve been added to multiple organisations you can switch between them using the dropdown that appears in the top-right of the DekkoDEMS interface:

If you can’t see this dropdown, you are a member of one organisation.

Create your first case

  1. Select the correct view profile for your team or organisation.
  1. Click the New Case button in the top-left of the interface.
  1. Fill in the case attributes as required. Some attributes may be mandatory.
  1. Under Content Access, select the user groups that need access to this case. You can select multiple groups and individuals.
  1. Click Create.

After creation, the case browser will filter to show your new case so you can open it immediately.

💡

Attributes displayed in the case creation form are based on your selected view profile. If you do not see the expected fields, check that you have the correct view profile selected. The case creation window will warn you if set an attribute field to a value that already exists in your organisation. Use the basic search to check existing cases.

For the full procedure, including sharing with individuals and permission settings, see Creating and Sharing Cases.

Upload content to a case

  1. Click on your case folder to open it.
  1. Use the content creation buttons in the top-left of the interface to upload files, upload folders or create folders.
  1. Select content format attributes where applicable and then click Confirm.
  1. Select the file(s) or folder(s) that you need to upload from your computer.
  1. Monitor upload progress using the upload manager (click the progress indicator to expand the list).

DekkoDEMS has no file type or file size restrictions. If the file you’re trying to upload already exists in the case/destination folder, DekkoDEMS will warn you and let you decide if you wish to keep both files or not.

💡

If you are uploading more than 30 files at once, DekkoDEMS will prompt you to use Express Upload, which combines files into a ZIP. Choose Standard if recipients need to view individual files (such as PDFs or images) directly within the application.

For large or bulk uploads (50 GB or more, or hundreds/thousands of files), use the DekkoDrive desktop application instead of the web browser. See DekkoDrive: Getting Started.

Find and filter cases

Use the basic filter (the search bar at the top of the case browser) to search across all attributes in your selected view profile. Type a term and press Enter.

For more targeted searches, click Advanced to filter by specific attributes such as date, status, or assigned user. You can combine multiple filters and apply grouping.

To search for specific files within a case, open the case folder and use the Search files in this case field. Note that content search matches file names within the current view only; it does not search across all cases.

For detailed instructions on filters, grouping, and content search, see Web: Interface and Filters.

Review audit activity

DekkoDEMS logs all access to case material. When a file has been viewed or downloaded by other users, you will see icons in the Events column of the case folder.

To see a detailed audit log for a specific file:

  1. Select the file.
  1. Click the Audit Log button.
  1. To export the log, click Export to generate a CSV file.

For more detail on audit logging, see Creating and Sharing Cases.

What to do next

Depending on your role and usage, you may want to explore the following:

  • Collecting external evidence: Set up Public Submissions to receive files from the public who do not have a DekkoDEMS account.
  • Desktop uploads: Install DekkoDrive for faster bulk uploads and downloads.

Troubleshooting

I did not receive an invitation email.

Check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not there, contact your organisation's DekkoDEMS administrator to confirm your email address and resend the invitation.

I cannot see any cases after logging in.

You may not yet be assigned to any access groups. Contact your administrator to confirm your group membership(s).

My upload is very slow or timing out.

For large uploads, use DekkoDrive instead of the web browser. Also check Whitelisting and browser settings to ensure your network is not blocking DekkoDEMS domains.

I cannot find the correct case attributes or view profile.

First, check which case attributes are visible when the Show all attributes view profile is selected. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, contact your administrator. View profiles and case attributes are configured per-organisation through Policies.
